16 Days of Activism

November 25, 2023

Today marks the start of 16 Days of Activism and we'd like to share with you how PEGS is getting involved.

Every year from 25th November - International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, through to 10th December - International Human Rights Day, an international campaign of 16 days of activism against Gender-Based Violence takes place.

One of our 4 main aims at PEGS is raising awareness of Child to Parent Abuse. Whilst CPA continues to be under-reported we do know that like other forms of domestic abuse, it is gendered. In our 2022 parent survey, almost every single respondent was a woman and 61% of the children displaying abusive behaviours identified as male.

Across the 16 Days of Activism, we wanted to shine a light on 16 services and organisations that are campaigning to end violence against women and girls. We will be sharing content across all our social media and in the blog section of our website, to help amplify some of the fantastic work that is being done in the VAWG sector. There’ll be a different service or organisation featured each day.

Do please get involved by liking, sharing, and commenting.
