Spark Social highlights Shropshire successes

Harriet Ernstsons-Evans • March 3, 2022

Our Founding Director Michelle John was delighted to be asked to join the line-up at the recent Spark Social event.

Hosted by Shropshire Council and the Marches Growth Hub, the online event served to highlight the wealth of not-for-profit organisations there are within the county, and the fantastic work they’re undertaking.

Michelle was interviewed by Shropshire Business magazine editor Carl Jones, sharing how the PEGS journey began and some of the key milestones in the journey so far.

She spoke about the support she’d received since day one from the Growth Hub – and said she hoped the event would inspire others who had viable ideas to go ahead and launch their own social enterprise.

“Don’t ever be afraid of having a no, because it just means there is another opportunity out there which may be better for you.”

Michelle said sometimes social enterprises were overlooked but they could bring an enormous amount to the table, and there was huge value in linking arms and working collectively to make the community the best it could be.

“My main priority remains the same to this day, and that is to offer support to those who are living in constant fear, walking on eggshells and feeling they’re the ones at fault…My biggest objective will always be providing support for those parents.”

If you’d like to re-watch the event, you can find all the interviews including Michelle’s here.
