New funding will help PEGS deliver workshops for parents experiencing CPA.
A grant from the RSA (Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce) will be used to support our programme of parent-focused sessions, which aim to promote empowerment, wellbeing and resilience.
Workshops have been a core part of PEGS’ offering since launching services three years ago and are delivered at no cost to attendees, as part of our commitment to reducing the barriers which can be faced when seeking support.
Lianna Etkind, The RSA’s Fellowship Areas and Engagement Manager (Central), said: “We were impressed with the work of PEGS and the difference they make in connecting parents and supporting resilience.”
And our Founding Director Michelle John explained: “Parents tell us how isolated and alone they feel, which then impacts on their emotional and mental wellbeing.
“By being able to run specific workshops that look at teaching them tools and techniques which equip them to become more resilient, this then helps them to feel more empowered going forward.
“This is about putting parents and their needs at the centre of what we do, and giving them practical tools that they can use in their daily life, as well as them knowing there is a safe space at PEGS for them to discuss their experiences and share the impact CPA may be having upon them.”
The RSA aims to provide ‘platforms, opportunities and networks for all those who share our vision to connect, engage, share ideas and expertise’ and has been driving social impact for more than 260 years.
Their work was first brought to PEGS’ attention by The Fore, who supported us with funding early on in our journey.
To access PEGS services, parents must fill in a self-referral form or have a referral made for them by a professional.
